After the last session of an insightful 2-day conference hosted by Photoshelter called Luminance, I attended a Burton-thon event that consisted of the grand re-opening of the flagship SoHo store, a burlesque-inspired fashion show, and a snowboarding movie premiere. And in between, enjoying a free beer and a free hot dog, chatting it up with Lucy about the new re-design and her moving up from the Burton Outlet Store in Orlando, Florida, seeing Jake Burton (but not seeing him), paying $1 to use a restroom at St. Patrick's Old Cathedral, waiting for about an hour outside a cool-looking synagogue, meeting Leah, Omar and a friend of theirs and them giving me support as I worried about Brian's arrival prior to the movie premiere, standing and enjoying free Stoli (+ ginger ale) drinks for about an hour and 15 minutes before the official movie premiere festivities kicked off...
Having woken up around 6:17am with about 7 hours of sleep but only getting about 2 hours of sleep the night before, I definitely couldn't stay for the post-screening revelries which included performances by Flatbush Zombies and the RZA. Plus essentially standing for the past 5+ hours didn't help.
